Important Notice Regarding 3M Product Availability
Dear Valued Customer:
We regret to inform you that 3M has declared force majeure due to the closure of a key supplier. Consequently, they have made the decision to discontinue the production of the 2353 and 2510 adhesives. For more detailed information, please refer to the letter below from 3M.
To ensure a seamless transition, Nylok has procured approximately six months’ worth of 3M material. During this transitional period, we request that you collaborate with your designated sales contact to place separate orders for processing with Precote® 80 for PPAP and validation purposes. It is of utmost importance that we expedite this process to prevent any shutdown scenarios.
We kindly ask you to conduct a thorough review of all pending RFQs related to 3M material. While Nylok will honor the previously quoted pricing, we cannot accommodate any new orders involving 3M products.

RE: 3M™ Fastener Adhesives Force Majeure – Raw Material Supplier Shutdown
Dear Valued Customer:
As you are aware from prior communications, 3M Fastener Adhesive products have been subject to an ongoing force majeure declaration since May 2023.
We have now received notification from another supplier that they are closing their operations this month and 3M will not be able to obtain further supply of a critical raw material used in the manufacturing of 3M™ Fastener Adhesives. We are trying to secure any remaining inventory. Our supplier’s abrupt and unexpected announcement leads 3M to declare force majeure.
3M will no longer be able to supply the following products after the current inventory is depleted.
Impacted Products
- 3M™ Fastener Adhesive 2353/2353B/2353Y
- 3M™ Fastener Adhesive 2510/2510N/2510R
We are analyzing the availability of the products to fulfill pending orders. Current orders will be placed on allocation and filled according to historical order volumes subject to material availability. No new orders will be accepted at this time.
