Lubricants/Wax
Nylok’s pre-applied, dry-to-touch lubricants offer an exceptional value eliminating the need for traditional time consuming, messy user-applied waxes and lubricants. Our environmentally friendly coatings consistently reduce friction and assist in preventing galling and torque chatter. These products are also an excellent choice for thread forming fastener assemblies. Installing fasteners in certain materials and at high speeds can create assembly issues as galling and cold welding before the fasteners are seated. To prevent this situation lubes can be used to reduce the COF and ease assembly. There are two types of lubricants…wax based and graphite based. In many cases both will prevent installation issues. Nylok’s wax based product is Nytorq® and works well in most applications. For stainless and higher temperature applications Nylok’s Nyplate® is a market leader.
